Larcinese Coat of Arms and Crest

I have seen it on the Internet at this point, despite the Larcinese crest or coat of arms you can order off of certain sites a Larcinese crest does not exist. The sites offering such a crest have simply just registered one in our name, similar to the ‘name a star scenario’ that is so popular today.

As of the late 1400’s, the Larcinese family does not have a crest or a coat of arms, and there is no royalty in the lineage. I have emailed these ‘order your crest’ companies several times requesting the research that was accumulated and where they found this record, I have still to receive a response to demonstrate their crest claims or name origins. Fifteen years ago I ordered both the crest and the name origin and used them as gospel until I talked to numerous professional historians and genealogist, scoured web-sites about real family crests and researched our originsin churches, Italian archives and private notary collections in Abruzzo… I think I used the crest and the 'name origins' items I ordered for very expensive scrap paper.

With the advice of expert genealogists in the Abruzzo, Lombardia and Molise regions- it has been explained to me that the only significant crest to our family would be found on a door or a wall of the ancient homes some dating back to the late 1600’s. I was fortunate enough to visit and purchase some of these homes and with the evaluation of the research as well, it is safe to say that this crest and the ‘origins of the name’ that is also tied in with it are not valid.

In addition, in Gessopalena a Larcinese showed me HIS order for the coat of arms, while mine said Italian in origin his stated Spain.

I understand that a crest can be made in our name now of course for a fee, and it would be very interesting to hear Larcinese thoughts on what should go into making such a personal crest. This would have to be a point of discussion with the Larcinese family all over the world!
